Pucon, Chile

Tuesday 07 Apr 09

We climbed Pucon’s greatest attraction, its resident volcano – Volcan Villarrica! 2847m with crampons and ice axes to summit. A fun day, with initial rain delays, then too much sulphur, but finally we made it. Great views into Chile and Argentina with views of the volcano currently erupting a little way off.

Poor quality image, but for those that watch the news Chile's latest attraction puts on a show!

Feeling tired we opted for an easy day. Actually 20km off road uphill cycle to a lovely lake! Worth it though and a fun ride back down! It was also sunny for a change!
