Crampons on today for treking on the Perito Merino Glacier (18km long, 60m thick above water, 100m below water at front, still advancing, moves 1.5m a day!). The trek was all day with chances to climp in caves and see deep blue glacial water pooling in crevases. Saw ice carving from the front, sounds like artillary fire with a deep rumble as it crashes mini icebergs into the water, followed by huge waves!
