We treated ourselves to a little lie in and after a good run and some itinerary planning (so much to do!) we went on a trip to Hammer Island to see the penguins. Still a few hundred there, some malting before they go off on their 6 month swim up North!


Penguins usually mate for life, there has, however, been an increased incidence of divorces...as our guide put it!

Evidently they are much better at swimming than they are at running! These guys have only just finished malting so they need to wait a few more days for their feathers to thicken before swimming otherwise the Antarctic waters are too cold for them......wimps!!
