Semuc Champay and Lanquin

Leaving Antigua on Friday afternoon we joined a tour group to Lanquin. Saturday morning we visited Semuc Champay. Fascinating series of shelved waterfalls, with the roaring river flowing beneath. Great views, great swimming, and descents of waterfalls that would have Health & Safety officials in the UK doing somersaults!! - One wet rope, water flowing over you and no foot holds!
The caves of Lanquin involved swimming one handed to hold your candle above water! A novel and unique experience, but again great fun. Finished off by tubing down the river on big rubber rings.

Stepped waterfalls and pools of Semuc Champay.

Which way?! (Why do I look so much like my Dad!)
Coban City.

On the route home we stopped to find Quetzals. The national bird and currency. Unfortunately only saw the currency in the wild and a cut out on a sign!

A really good weekend, meeting great people and getting very wet.
